Working on legislation or regulation that impacts you

May a City employee work on legislation or a regulation that affects their financial interest?

Yes, if the legislation or regulation affects that employee's financial interest in the same manner as the general public or a substantial segment thereof and does not have a substantially disproportionate impact on the employee's financial interest, in comparison to the general public or a substantial segment thereof.
